Our tools define leverage as the difference between a player’s public exposure and their probability of being the top scorer at their position, this is reflected in the Top Pitchers Tool as well as the Top Stacks Tool. Positive numbers in the leverage column are teams in good situations that are not owned as much as our data says they should be, teams with negative numbers are over-exposed. This is not an automatic play or don’t play number, and the utility varies from sport to sport, but we typically want to seek out highly projected players or stacks that also have positive leverage.
